Casa Allegria
Your Italian Dream awaits you!
About us
It all began with a dream...
... and our love for Italy. We had been toying with the idea of owning a property in Italy for a while, but not in our wildest dreams did we think it could actually happen. Until one day our friends Karen and Steve, who are property developers in Umbria, showed us a few of the properties that were for sale at the time. Within moments of entering the house we knew this was the place for us! That was in April 2010 and by July we were the proud owners of Casa Allegria.
Allegria means joy in Italian and that's what it brings us when staying in this beautifully restored building nestled in a hilltop village of Civitella Benazzone. We hope you will experience the same.
We then proceeded to furnish our little piece of heaven to make it comfortable, relaxing but yet practical not only for us but particularly our future holiday guests.
Since renting out our property many satisfied guests have stayed at Casa Allegria (see testimonials), commenting on how well-equipped and comfortable it is.
The house has two bedrooms - one master bedroom on the first floor with a comfortable king-size bed and a downstairs bedroom leading to the garden with twin beds that can be moved together to make a king-size bed if needed. All beds have memory foam mattresses and Egyptian cotton 300 thread bedlinens. There is a small desk in each bedroom and wifi so you can attend to your business if you can get yourself to do so!
The location is perfect: Only 20 minutes drive from Umbria's capital and university town Perugia with its vibrant atmosphere and many activities like the Umbria Jazz Festival in July and the Chocolate Festival in October. We are also only 20 minutes from famous Assisi and another 20 minutes from Gubbio with it's medieval lanes and buildings. There are also many hiking paths nearby for all fitness levels, be it a walk on flat terrain along the Tiber river or going up to Monte Tezio (995m) with it's stunning 360 degree views.
Airports: 20 minutes drive from Perugia airport or appr. 2 hours drive from Rome or Bologna. 2 1/2 hours from Pisa.
The house is suitable for 4 people. Children from 12 years onwards, but no pets. No smoking in the house please. A car is required to get to the house and its surroundings.
If you are planning to come for two weeks or more than there will be a weekly bed linen change.

About a 10 minute walk away or 2 minutes by car there is an Agritourismo with a large swimmingpool and sun loungers amongst an olive grove, where you can spend all day for a fee of 10 Euros. There is also an adjacent restaurant, serving delicious food, tennis court and horse riding facilities.
An Itallian holiday wouldn't be complete without a plentiful supply of gelato. We've sampled the best gelaterias for you and you can find their location in our guestbook that also has recommendations for restaurants and excursions.
